NetSuite

Connecting NetSuite

You'll need administrator access to your NetSuite account to complete the connection.

  1. In the Kipper portal, go to Data Sources in the sidebar
  2. Select NetSuite
  3. Create an integration record in NetSuite ahead of time (see Creating a NetSuite integration record below)
  4. Enter your Account ID, Consumer Key, and Consumer Secret from that record
  5. Click Connect

Kipper uses token-based authentication (TBA). Your credentials are encrypted in transit and at rest.

Creating a NetSuite integration record

An integration record in NetSuite is what allows Kipper to talk to your account over web services. You create it once, then use its credentials when connecting.

  1. In NetSuite, go to Setup → Integration → Manage Integrations → New
  2. Give the integration a recognisable name (for example, Kipper)
  3. Under Authentication, tick Token-Based Authentication
  4. Leave User Credentials unticked
  5. Save the record — NetSuite displays the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret once. Copy both immediately; they cannot be retrieved later
  6. Enter the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and your Account ID into Kipper's connection screen

Before doing this, ensure Token-based Authentication is enabled at Setup → Company → Enable Features → SuiteCloud → Manage Authentication.

What Kipper can answer

  • Invoices and payments received
  • Customer balances and accounts receivable aging
  • Vendor bills and payments
  • Outstanding invoices and overdue balances

Sync details

Initial sync time scales with your NetSuite data volume — roughly 30 minutes to an hour per 100k transactions. Very large accounts can take a day or more. After the initial sync, Kipper keeps your data fresh continuously.

Troubleshooting

If the connection fails, confirm:

  • The integration record has the correct role with the permissions Kipper requires (listed on the connection screen)
  • Token-based authentication is enabled in your NetSuite account settings (Setup → Company → Enable Features → SuiteCloud → Token-based Authentication)
  • Your Account ID is entered correctly with no extra spaces
  • The Consumer Key and Consumer Secret were copied without leading or trailing whitespace
