Xero

Connecting Xero

  1. In the Kipper portal, go to Data Sources in the sidebar
  2. Select Xero
  3. Click Connect with Xero — you'll be redirected to Xero's OAuth login
  4. Sign in, select the Xero organisation to connect, and grant Kipper access
  5. You'll be redirected back to Kipper once authorised

Kipper requests read-only access to Xero. It only ever reads from Xero; it never creates, edits, or deletes records.

What Kipper can answer

  • Invoices and payments by contact
  • Outstanding and overdue invoices
  • Bill and expense summaries
  • Accounts receivable aging
  • Customer and vendor balances

Sync details

After the initial connection, Kipper keeps your data fresh in two ways:

  • Scheduled sync — Kipper polls Xero every 15 minutes for changes
  • Live updates — Xero sends change notifications to Kipper via webhooks, and the affected records are pulled within seconds

You do not need to configure webhooks yourself. Kipper's global webhook subscription in Xero's developer portal covers every connected organisation automatically.

Troubleshooting

Xero OAuth tokens can expire. If Kipper reports a disconnected Xero source, go to Data Sources in the sidebar and reconnect. Contact support@kipper.com if the issue persists — we reply within one business day.
