QuickBooks Online

Connecting QuickBooks Online

  1. In the Kipper portal, go to Data Sources in the sidebar
  2. Select QuickBooks Online
  3. Click Connect with Intuit — you'll be redirected to Intuit's OAuth login
  4. Sign in with your QuickBooks Online admin credentials and grant Kipper access
  5. You'll be redirected back to Kipper once authorised

Kipper only ever reads from QuickBooks — it never creates, edits, or deletes records.

What Kipper can answer

  • Invoices and payments
  • Customer and vendor balances
  • Outstanding and overdue invoices
  • Accounts receivable aging
  • Bill and expense summaries

Sync details

After the initial connection, Kipper keeps your data fresh in two ways:

  • Scheduled sync — Kipper polls QuickBooks every 15 minutes for changes
  • Live updates — Kipper receives change notifications from QuickBooks via webhooks and pulls the affected records within seconds

You do not need to configure webhooks yourself. Kipper's global webhook subscription in Intuit's developer portal covers every connected company automatically.

Troubleshooting

Intuit OAuth tokens can occasionally expire. If Kipper shows a disconnected QuickBooks source, go to Data Sources in the sidebar and reconnect. Contact support@kipper.com if the issue persists — we reply within one business day.
